Vulcan Catering Equipment has been in business for over 60 years, and a few years ago its clients requested the company to add baking equipment solutions to its portfolio. Vulcan knows that it is pivotal to focus on the customer’s needs and this has been one of the reasons why the company has remained successful for six decades. As it is part of the Bidvest group, it also offers additional benefits through its close alliances with companies including Bidvest bakery solutions and Bidvest food exports.

With professional bakers as part of their team, Vulcan Bakery shares valuable information to ensure that its customers’ requirements are achieved. “With a wide range of both locally-produces products, such as the Milano Range, as well as imported products, we can source a wide range of equipment to suit both large and small-scale bakeries,” says Dimitri Spanos, Vulcan Bakery Equipment Manager. “We also have a wide network of sales, services and distribution points across South Africa and most parts of Africa.”

Vulcan Bakery Equipment is well aware of the challenges that face the baking industry. “The industry is experiencing a major skills shortage of trained bakers and bakery managers,” says Dimitro. “To try simplify the baking process in order to create more consistent products, we have added a programmable control panel on all our ovens. We have also adapted our ovens to be more energy-efficient and offer alternative heating sources such as fuel ovens.”

Vulcan’s Bakery division recently launched a 80-loaf oven for small bakeries and craft bakeries, and there are lots of other exciting equipment plans in development. With a variety of customers, from franchises to independents, across South Africa and Africa, and their most recent flagship launch being President Hyper Vaal, Vulcan Bakery is well-placed to offer any customer in the baking industry all-round great service.
