With the start of the school year, hundreds of parents queued outside the Hope Early Development Centre in Diepsloot, Johannesburg, with the hope of enrolling their little ones in the most sought after school in the area, following the recent completion of the school buildings, by Anchor Yeast.

Anchor Yeast embarked on this project some three years ago, and with great satisfaction, finally inaugurated the new buildings, early December 2014. The new buildings which feature three classrooms, toilets, a kitchen and an office, provide the learners an environment conducive to education and development.

Lallemand CEO Jean Chagnon set aside time in his busy schedule to cut the red ribbon, officially opening the school and sharing this special occasion with the Anchor Yeast team.

“Anchor Yeast sees this as on ongoing project, which presents an opportunity for our staff to also be involved with the school. Educational investment is crucial to changing our country, encouraging transformation to push back the challenges of poverty and unemployment,” commented Lorraine Bezuidenhout, Director for the Bakery Business Unit.
